Cricket Six-a-Side Fun Day

Sunday's Midsummer Festival event is Falkland Cricket Club's Fun Sixes event at Scroggie Park, Falkland Estate. Come and see some fun cricket ! There will be a barbecue from lunchtime and refreshments on sale all day. Fun starts at 1pm. All welcome!

Falkland Festival Street Fair 2015

It's just 2 days to go until our Street Fair! This year we have lots going on for all the family with plenty to entertain and a wonderful selection of local craft, design & food stalls. Below you can read all about what's happening at the Street Fair this year!

Birds of Prey:
Head to the Palace Orchard if you'd like to see these beautiful birds of prey!

Medieval Methil & Archery:
Living history... be taken back in time! In the Palace Orchard.

World War 1 Workshop:
As part of Falkland Centre for Stewardship's World War 1 project 'Remembering the Old Parish of Falkland', they are hosting a small exhibition and talks in the Upper Town Hall. For more information on the talks and how to book please visit their website. There will also be a guided walk around Falkland on Sunday 21st June.

Look out for superhero clues hiding around the street fair... if you figure out what they mean you'll get a treat!

Events at The Bruce Inn

The Bruce Inn has some great events as part of the 2015 Falkland Festival. On Wednesday head over to the Bruce for their Pub Quiz - 50% of entry fees are going to the Falkland Playpark Development Fund and there's some great prizes. It's just 5 days until our opening party! It's going to be a lovely afternoon in the Palace Orchard with free entry & refreshments. We've created an event on Facebook so you can invite your friends and family along too. We hope to see you there!

Can You Help at the Falkland Festival?

The Falkland Midsummer Festival preparations are well underway. We're looking forward to sharing the programme with you soon! If you're interested in having a stall at the Street Fair on 20th June (11am-3pm) then there's still time to apply. Stallholders must bring their own table and gazebo as the market is outdoors but we do have a back up venue for bad weather. You can download the application form from our website, the closing date is 4th May. We will be choosing a selection of stallholders from the applications after that to ensure there is a wide range of products available at the street fair.

We are also looking for raffle donations and volunteers to help out at the events during the festival. Please get in touch if you can help us! You can do so by emailing hello@falklandfestivalfife.co.uk 

Falkland Festival 2015

Welcome to the Falkland Festival blog! Thanks to the (mostly) new committee the 2015 festival will go ahead after a shaky start so we thought it would be fun to freshen things up a bit. You'll notice we now have a new look with a new name too - the Falkland Midsummer Festival! We also have a fab new website and are now on Instagram and Twitter as well as Facebook. You can sign up to our mailing list on our website if you'd like to stay up to date with the 2015 programme and check back to this blog where we hope to share more of our plans for June. Wish us luck!
